The Ampere NXG is set to be launched in India today as the most premium offering of the brand. When launched it will compete against models like TVS iQube and Ather Rizta.

Ampere NXG will be the most premium scooter of the brand
Ampere is ready to expand its presence in the Indian electric two-wheeler market by launching its most premium model today. According to reports, the electric scooter codenamed NXG will likely be named Nexus. It is to be noted that this two-wheeler is the production version of the NXG Concept which was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. Once launched, the EV will join models like Primus, Magnus, Zeal EX, and others in the brand's lineup.

Ampere NXG: Design

In terms of design, the Ampere Nexus has a regular design with a big seat and floorboard. This design is a big departure from sporty scooters and hence targets a bigger segment of consumers. Based on the spy shots revealed earlier, the EV will have a rather simple design with LED DRLs and headlamps, complemented by a flat-looking apron. Although, the scooter is expected to have a modern appeal with a few lines across the body of the vehicle.

Ampere NXG: Chassis

Under the body panels, it has a new chassis which is supported by a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear end. To hold the ground, the scooter uses 12-inch alloy wheels which have the space to mount a disc brake at the front end while it gets a drum brake at the rear end. It is worth mentioning that this is the first electric scooter of the brand equipped with disc brakes.

Ampere NXG: Features

The new Ampere NXG will stand at the top of the brand's lineup. To support it, the brand has loaded the scooter with tech. The EV will get features like a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity enabling multiple features like call and message notification alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, and multiple other features.

Ampere NXG: Powertrain

The brand has kept the powertrain details of the electric scooter a secret. However, if reports are to be trusted the EV will get a battery giving it a range of around 120 km powering a mid-mounted motor.

Ampere NXG: Price

Once launched the Ampere NXG will compete against models like TVS iQube and Ather Rizta in the Indian market. If priced competitively, the electric scooter will be priced at below Rs 1.5 lakh.
