Auto Expo 2018 motor show is nearing and Yamaha looks set to launch a new 155cc scooter at the biennial event. The new Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter has been recently spied at what is believed to be one of a company’s dealerships in India. The images revealed by a Motoroids reader show the Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter in a completely undisguised state in a dark blue shade. According to the report, the scooter should arrive in India by 25th February. The scooter will most likely be launched in India at Auto Expo 2018. As the name suggests, the Yamaha Aerox 155 sources its power from a 155cc, single cylinder engine that is mated to an automatic gearbox. The Blue Core enabled engine is good for churning out a maximum power output of 14.8 hp along with a peak torque of 14.4 Nm. The company says that the Blue Core technology helps in a better combustion efficiency along with an improved fuel economy. For those not in the know, the Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter is already on sale in some international markets. If the Aerox 155 gets launched, it will sit in the company’s product portfolio as the most powerful Yamaha scooter for the Indian two-wheeler market.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 gets a sporty apron up front that gets a racing stripe like treatment. The scooter comes fitted with twin LED headlamps that should offer decent illumination in the dark. The scooter also gets a fully digital instrument cluster along with a smart key that comes across as its prime USPs. The images show that the upcoming Yamaha Aerox 155 will get a disc brake up front along with an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). The complete feature list to be unwrapped at Auto Expo 2018.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 is expected to be priced for the Indian two-wheeler market at close to Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom). The scooter will take on the likes of Aprilia SR 150 and the Honda Grazia. More details to be revealed at the Auto Expo 2018.
