The wait finally seems to end for all those who are eagerly waiting for the TVS Apache RR 310S. The motorcycle will be launched in India on 6th December. For those not in the know, the TVS Apache RR 310S is the production model of the Akula 310 concept that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The bike is expected to be launched at a price close to Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The TVS Apache RR 310S will be the flagship bike by the Hosur-based manufacturer and is expected to create ripples in the full faired 300cc sportsbike territory, all thanks to its competitive price tag and the bunch of features it packs in. It has been almost a year that the spy shots of the Apache RR 310S have been doing rounds on the internet. In such a case, the confirmed launch date will indeed bring a sigh of relief to the enthusiasts.
The TVS Apache RR 310S gets its power from a 313cc, liquid-cooled engine and it is the same unit that runs the BMW G310R roadster. The single cylinder motor comes mated to a six-speed transmission system and is good for churning out respective power and torque outputs of 34 hp and 28 Nm. The braking power to the TVS Apache RR 310S is delivered with the help of a 300mm disc brake upfront along with a 240mm disc at the rear, coupled to an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).
The salient features of the TVS Apache RR 310S include twin projector headlamps, full digital instrumentation with several race-inspired bits, LED tail lamp and turning winkers and upside down forks upfront. The bike will compete with the likes of KTM Duke 250 and Mahindra Mojo in terms of price point. On performance grounds though, the new Apache will lock its horns with KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Benelli 302R.
