Nissan Note spied on test in India – Expected to launch in 2018

Nissan Note is a small, fuel efficient vehicle with low emission levels and advanced technology. First launched back in 2012, it received a facelift last year. Manufactured from the company plant in Kyushu, Japan and Nissan plant in Sunderland, UK, Note is on sale in Europe as well as South East Asian countries.

Now, considering the demand for premium hatchbacks in India, it was reported last month that Nissan could launch the Note here in India. Now, with the test mule getting spied on the streets of Chennai, where Nissan has a R&D facility as well as a manufacturing plant, it will be safe to guess that Nissan India is actively working on launching the Note here. We can expect the Note to be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in February next year.

Though a small car, Nissan has spent days to make the hatchback as aerodynamic as possible. The distinctive front grille, well designed head and rear lamps, etc all help in making the car aerodynamic. Interiors are also enhanced in design and comfort. Interiors feature all black dashboard with black fabric seats. It also gets a 7 inch colour screen for infotainment.

Internationally, Nissan Note is offered with two engine options – HR12DDR (DIG-S) and the HR12DE which have also been seen in the Nissan March offering 92 hp and 105 lb/ft torque. Nissan claims that the Note Squash will offer 25.2 kmpl or 59 mpg. In India however, it could be offered with the same set of engine as we have seen in Micra, tuned to deliver better performance.

Below are images of Nissan Note Custom Black Edition, which was showcased a few months ago. Finished in glossy black, this special Note hatchback also gets contrasting Orange accents on the lower bumper, door handles, ORVMs and rear spoiler. Nissan Note Custom Black is seen with advanced Around View Monitoring which is being offered for the first time in a compact car wherein functions such as reversing and parallel parking are hardly a task.
