Japanese car manufacturer, Nissan has started testing the Note in India and test mule was spotted by Motorbeam in Chennai. The hatchback was showcased in 2013 Geneva Motor Show and has received a facelift last year.Globally, the car is on sale in European and South East markets and it is expected that it might be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. The spied images suggest that test mule might be a top variant as it gets rich features such as LED tail lamps, chrome door handles and Medalist badge at the rear.The India bound Note is expected to get the same powertrain as seen in hatchback Micra. The 2017 Note will get 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine. In addition, Nissan is also considering to bring Nissan Note e-Power, which was launched last year in Japan.However, the spotted test mule didn’t have any e-power badge.The Note e-Power gets the same EV technology as seen in Nissan Leaf and is powered by HR12DE petrol engine. The engine generates 77 hp of power and 103Nm of torque and the electric motor produces 107 hp of power and 254Nm of torque. To charge the battery the electric vehicle doesn’t have an external charger and it uses its petrol engine.
In our earlier report, we told you that Nissan is planning to introduce performance hatchback. The car will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Polo GT and Baleno RS. The performance hatchback is expected to generate 100hp to 120 hp of power and will be priced at Rs 10 lakh. Also, Nissan India will launch eight new models by 2021. At the 2018 Auto Expo, Nissan India might launch X-Trail hybrid and an electric vehicle, Note & Leaf.
