The Geneva Motor Show 2018 is perhaps the largest motor show in the world; despite manufacturers becoming even more picky about which show they will use as a platform to showcase their latest wares, they continue to make their way down to Switzerland to be part of the Geneva Motorshow. Effectively making Switzerland the centre of the car world over the next week. This year’s show will be held between the 8-18 of March for the public. Don’t forget to catch all the action as it happens on Express Drives on the media days two days prior to the expo opening for the public. Geneva is a show of opulence, in the sense that it remains the go-to platform for debuting exciting, expensive automobiles that consumers will actually want to drive, regardless of price or efficiency. Leaving behind the hybrid energy what-have-yous and pod-like single drive cars.“Geneva is a grand vision show,” says Michael Harley, the managing editor of Kelley Blue Book was quoted talking to Bloomberg “There’s a lot of news, a lot of buzz, a lot of excitement. The fashion world has Paris. The car world has Geneva.”

TATA EXECUTIVE SEDAN — HONDA CITY RIVAL
Finally, the one that we are yet to see, is the Tata Motors upcoming Honda City competitor. Tata’s new sedan will be based on the company’s new Advance Modular Platform (AMP) that also underpins the 45X concept car. Expect powerful versions of Tata’s existing Revotron petrol and Revotorq diesel engines to power the Tata’s new sedan. The engine will be mated to a manual transmission with an optional AMT or dual-clutch transmission on offer at the launch.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class might be just a facelift but it is the most likely of the Benz cars to make it to India. The X-Class is still far out. Mercedes-Benz have focused the entire strength of the facelift on the interior. This especially considering the fact that the C-Class has traditionally always been the most comfort oriented of the compact executive cars. The facelift develops even more prominence if you dare to explore the optional extra customisations on offer, like wood trim options like brown walnut’ or ‘anthracite oak’. Another optional extra, is the Multicontour Seat Package. Which, like the S-Class, gets adjustable side bolsters and lumbar support along with a massage effect for your lower back. Mercedes-AMG however, will have cars like the new G63 and the AMG-GT 4 seater
