Triumph Motorcycles had promised earlier this month that an array of new motorcycles will be launched in India this year, and the spree is beginning with the launch of the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster on 27 February. First unveiled at the India Bike Week last year, the Speedmaster has been quite well received by motorcycle enthusiasts in the country. Besides the Speedmaster, Triumph Motorcycles plans to launch five other bikes during the 2018 financial year across model categories. Other than new products, Triumph also plans to hold track training programmes for riders in collaboration with California Super Bike School India and RACR academy. Triumph Motorcycles is also set to launch the all-new Tiger 800, Tiger 1200 this year.

Triumph Speedmaster is based on the Triumph Bobber and offers a relaxed cruiser style riding stance. It is also powered by the 1200cc Bobber and T120 engine, which is a high-torque, parallel-twin engine that makes 77 bhp of power at 6,100 rpm and 106 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.

Triumph has equipped the Speedmaster with two riding modes – Road and Rain, ABS, switchable traction control and cruise control.

When launched in India, the Triumph Speedmaster will compete with the likes of Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom and is expected to be priced at about Rs 10 lakh-Rs 12 lakh.
