In a strange turn of events, all the major auto brands taking part in the upcoming Auto Expo to be held in Greater Noida have decided to opt out of the event fearing damage to their expensive cars after passionate car exploder-cum-Bollywood director Rohit Shetty expressed his wish to attend the event this time.
“This man just can’t stand the sight of an innocently parked car.
We have seen how ruthless he is to cars (especially SUVs) in his films. Even villains in his films don’t have to endure the kind of brutality that automobiles have to. We can’t risk exposing our brand new cars to such a car-slaughter,” said the BMW India chief.
Brands like Volvo, Skoda, Harley-Davidson etc that decided to give the event a miss this year, have heaved a huge sigh of relief.
“Good that we opted out. Shetty is as it is known in Bollywood circles to leave no vehicle unturned to make a blockbuster film,” argued the Bajaj auto chief.
“He is insane. I have heard how he was once charged with attempt to suicide after he expressed keenness to explode the very car he was traveling in,” he added.
However, Rohit Shetty has claimed that he has no intentions of blowing away any car at the Auto Expo and is only going there for casting of his new film.
“My next film will be a multi-car starrer, so I am going to Auto Expo to sign 4 cars for the film’s lead role. Though all these four characters would die at some point in the film, I am hopeful that the script appeals to the cars I approach and they give it their nod,” hoped Rohit, who will cast Bollywood stars in supporting roles.
Meanwhile for the next phase of odd-even rule, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has decided to utilize Shetty’s talent by asking him to blast away all odd number cars on even days and vice-versa.
