Maruti unveils compact SUV Vitara Brezza
The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India unveiling new compact SUV ‘Vitara Brezza’. Vitara Brezza is among the first of a new range of products in which the company’s Indian engineers have played a bigger role in designing and development as parent Suzuki looks to enhance its base.
“In ‘Suzuki Next 100’, our mid-term management plan, India is positioned as the most strategic market and production base. I am proud to introduce the brand new Vitara Brezza. It is developed under a unique process to design, with a special focus on taste and values of Indian customers,” Suzuki Motor Corporation President and COO T Suzuki told reporters in New Delhi

Hyundai unveils SUV Tucson, eyes 2 new models every year
Korean auto major Hyundai today unveiled sports utility vehicle ‘Tucson’ in India as it eyes a bigger play in the fast growing segment.

“We are delighted to unveil our global sports utility vehicle Tucson. We aim to launch two new products each year going ahead,” Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) MD and CEO Y K Koo told reporters.

Mercedes unveils GLC, S-Class Cabriolet at Auto Expo
German luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz today unveiled sports utility vehicle GLC and S-Class Cabriolet, at the 13th Delhi Auto Expo here. It also showcased its premium luxury Maybach S 60 Guard.
“The GLC and the S-Class Cabriolet are the two most successful products… and we will be introducing this year,” said Mercedes-Benz India MD and CEO Roland Folger said. With these introductions, Mercedes-Benz will strengthen the two segments, SUV and Dream Car, which witnessed the highest growth last year.
JLR launches Jaguar Xe sports saloon starting at Rs 39.9 lakh
Tata Motors-owned JLR today launched the all-new Jaguar XE sports saloon priced at Rs 39.9 lakh and Rs 46.5 lakh. Jaguar XE will be available in two petrol engine options with power output of 147 KW priced at Rs 39.9 lakh and 177 KW at Rs 46.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the company said.
Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Ralph Speth told reporters at the Auto Expo, “As part of our commitment to India we have increased localisation and on the 5th anniversary of our plant (at Pimpri), we built five products in India, today we will add Jaguar XE to it.”
Piaggio unveils two-wheeler crossover Aprilia SR 150
Italian two-wheeler maker Piaggio, manufacturer of Vespa scooters, today forayed into India’s premium two-wheeler market by unveiling sports scooter-bike Aprilia SR 150.
The model, which will be launched in August, is a blend of motorbikes and scooter and sports a 150cc engine. The crossover will have 14-inch wheels like motorbikes and auto-gears like scooters.
HMSI launches 110 cc NAVI; aims over 50 lk unit sales in 2016
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today launched 110 cc bike NAVI at the Auto Expo here as it aims to cross 50 lakh unit sales in the country this year aided by the production at its fourth plant in Gujarat.
“With India having the world’s youngest population, it is imperative for Honda to connect with youth. NAVI will take forward Honda’s fun DNA in India,” HMSI Senior Vice-President Sales and Marketing YS Guleria said. The company plans to introduce six new models in the country, of which it launched NAVI today.
Hero MotoCorp unveils first in-house bike Splendor iSmart 110
World’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp today unveiled its first in-house developed motorcycle, splendor iSmart 110, at the 13th Auto Expo New Delhi.
The firm also unveiled three other vehicles — premium segment sports bike Xtreme 200 S, design concept bike XF3R and an electric scooter concept Duet-E. Splendor iSmart 110 is the company’s first completely in-house developed motorcycle, since separating from erstwhile partner Honda.
Suzuki Motorcycle unveils new Access 125, upgrades Gixxer
Suzuki Motorcycle India today unveiled a new version of its popular scooter ‘Access 125’ and upgraded ‘Gixxer’ motorcycle series.
“India is a key market for us… Suzuki has taken Access 125 to the next level with a model change to our flagship scooter. We have upgraded Gixxer series with rear disc break… these motorcycles have been designed specially for the Indian Market,” Suzuki Motor India managing director Masayoshi Ito said at the 13th Auto Expo in New Delhi.
Isuzu unveils adventure utility vehicle D-MAX V-Cross
Japanese commercial vehiclemaker Isuzu today unveiled adventure utility vehicle D-MAX V-Cross at the Auto Expo, which would be manufactured from April at its Sri City plant in Andhra Pradesh.
Powered by a 134 hp, BS-IV compliant, high pressure Common Rail Fuel Injection diesel engine, D-MAX V-Cross is a second generation pickup and is currently available in Europe, Australia, Thailand and South America.
Yamaha unveils new scooter Cygnus Ray-ZR for Indian market
Japanese auto major Yamaha Motors today unveiled a new scooter, Cygnus Ray-ZR, for the Indian market at the 13th addition of the Auto Expo at New delhi.
The Cygnus Ray-ZR is developed around a concept of ‘a next generation real man’s scooter’. The scooter with a fresh look is powered by an air-cooled 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-Value 113cc blue core engine with a continuously variable transmission unit.
Honda Cars India unveils 7-seater BR-V
Honda cars India today unveiled its seven-seater crossover utility vehicle ‘BR-V’ which has been exclusively developed for the Asian markets including
India. The vehicle is scheduled to be launched in the country this year.
India is the largest contributor to the Asia and Oceania region and the fourth largest contributor to Honda’s automobile sales globally, Honda Motor Ltd President and CEO Takahiro Hachigo told reporters here at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016.
