Maruti Suzuki will launch an array of new vehicles along with some facelift versions in India and one such model that will soon hit the Indian shores is the S-Cross. A test mule of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift has recently been spotted near Shimla by Carwale.com. The facelift S-Cross will get cosmetic enhancements, both at the exterior and interior. However, it is based on the current model’s underpinnings and will share the same 1.3 litre diesel engine powering the present model. The more powerful DDiS 320 will not be offered in India with the new S-Cross.
The new S-Cross will get a revised design in the form of a sportier front fascia dominated by a new chrome finished front grille with vertical slats. It will also be equipped with sweptback projector headlamps with chrome surrounds and cornering lamps. The LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), revised front bumper with larger air intakes as well as a revised fog lamp cluster with chrome embellishment will also be a part of the update. The front will also feature a redesigned skid plate at the front, while the side profile will feature door mounted ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) and will get new 17-inch alloy wheels on higher versions. The rear, on the other hand, will get reworked tail lamps and bumper.
The cabin will feature a new colour scheme, an updated instrument cluster, multifunction steering wheel and centre console with a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system. The top versions are expected to get contrast stitching on the seats, a dual-zone climate control, auto dimming rear view mirror, rain sensing wiper and reverse parking camera.

The crossover, like the ongoing model, will be sold at the company’s premium dealership, Nexa and is expected to be launched in India around the festive season (October-November, 2017). The new S-Cross would compete with the likes of the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, and the Hyundai Creta.
